Sunnyslope
The Sunnyslope project involved a complete renovation of Whit and Laura’s newly purchased home. Builders by Design had worked with them remodeling two of their previous homes before they moved out of state. When they returned to Minnesota and purchased a home, they engaged Builders by Design to work with them to transform it throughout to a clean, modern style. Laura and Whitt were highly engaged in the process, incorporating their ideas to create a home that meets the unique needs and lifestyle of their family.

Main Level Front Entry
Updated the entryway design, enhanced with an open view of the piano room.

Main Level Piano Room
A piano room to the right of the main entry is separated by a glass wall, keeping the open concept while providing a noise barrier between the piano room and the entry.
Main Level Living Room
The living room features a custom-made concrete fireplace surround.

Main Level Kitchen and Pantry
The kitchen and pantry were modernized with a clean, fresh design.
The pantry was changed to a hidden doorway that matches the cabinetry.

Main Level Mudroom
The mudroom cabinetry was updated and a door to the outside replaced the previous window.
The walk-in closet from the mudroom became a laundry room.

Upper Level Primary Suite
Improved the efficiency and modernized the primary suite, replacing unused space with a walk-in shower. The walk-in closet was changed from open shelving to closed, clean dark cabinetry, offering a sharp contrast to the white colors and light cabinetry of the bathroom space.

Upper Level Bedrooms, Closets and Baths
In addition to the Primary Suite, the Upper Level includes three additional bedrooms, one having an En Suite bathroom and the other two sharing a Jack-n-Jill bathroom.
Upper Level Laundry
Changes to the laundry room resulted in more countertop space, and a custom cabinet in the hallway provides additional storage.

Lower Level Whit's Wood Shop
The sport court was transformed into a workshop for Whit. The entrance to the workshop was changed to a glass doorway, accessible behind a secret door to the Wood Shop. The back side of the secret door includes an engraving of Whit’s Wood Shop.
