Project Parkwood
The Parkwood project involved a complete renovation of Jay and Angela’s 1953 home.They loved the property and wanted to update their home to refresh the design and expand its size to fit their family and their lifestyle. Reaching these goals resulted in the remodel of the main level, the lower level and the addition of a second level. Total square footage of livable space increased from 3,254 to 7,129 square feet.

Exterior
Changed from a 1 level to a full 2 story home, with a finished basement. Moved the garage from a tuck-under on the side to the front of the home and expanded to three stalls. Completed a façade redesign, including the addition of columns in the front and outdoor living space in the back. Added a heated driveway and walkways to keep them free of ice and snow during the winter months.

Enhanced Entry and living Space
Created an elegant two-story foyer with warm wainscoting and opened the living space between the Kitchen, Dining Room and Great Room.

The Kitchen was expanded and redesigned, more than doubling its size, to create a useful space for preparing food and gathering together.

Great Room and Dining Room
The locations of the Great Room and Dining Room were reversed, with the Dining Room moved to the front of the house and the Great Room in the back. French doors on each side of the step-down bar provide easy access to the outdoor patio and fire feature. The Great Room features a fireplace and a step down bar.

Mudroom
The entrance from the garage includes a landing and stairs to the Mudroom. The Mudroom features lots of storage and a built-in laundry closet with a stacked washer and dryer to accommodate busy lives.
Upper Level Addition
The Upper Level includes the Master Suite along with three additional bedrooms each having their own private bathroom. A full function laundry room is also included on this level

Sport Court
A Sport Court was built under the garage to support the family’s hockey lifestyle, as well as provide a place for group workouts with friends. A viewing area from the Recreation Room makes it easy to watch what is happening on the Sport Court.
Step Down Bar
The Great Room features a Step Down curved bar set at table height to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Screened Porch
Increased outdoor experience and expanded living space with the addition of a porch with phantom screens that are motorized and easily retractable to provide a screened or open experience. The porch has a fireplace, as well as infrared heaters, to maximize time outdoors as the seasons change.
